Black Cod Marinated with Honey

Black Cod Marinated with Honey

This Honey-Marinated Alaska Black Cod is a beautifully simple, melt-in-your-mouth dish that balances sweet, savory, and tangy flavors in every bite. The fillets soak in a rich blend of honey, soy sauce, olive oil, and white wine vinegar for up to 24 hours, giving the fish a silky texture and deep, caramelized flavor. Baked at high heat until golden and just opaque, the black cod stays buttery, tender, and naturally rich—no complicated steps required. Serve with steamed greens or fluffy rice for an elegant, nourishing meal that highlights the clean, delicate taste of Wild for Salmon’s Alaska Black Cod.

Black Cod Marinated with Honey

Servings: 4

  • Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

Instructions

Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or Bragg's alternative for gluten-free)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup white wine vinegar
  • 6 Wild for Salmon Alaska Black Cod portions (each are approx 4oz)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Stir honey, soy sauce, olive oil and vinegar together in a glass (or non-reactive) bowl. Place Alaska Black Cod fillets in the bowl, skin side up, so that marinade covers all of the fish flesh. Cover and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
  2. Heat oven to 450°F. Remove fillets from marinade and place on a nonstick (or spray-coated/foil-lined) baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper. Bake until fillets are golden to dark brown, about 7 to 9 minutes. You want to cook the fish, just until it is opaque throughout. Serve with a green veggie and/or rice.
